Effective Cleaning Method

For optimal results, we recommend following this proven cleaning method:

  1. Begin by using a well-designed bore guide to ensure precision.
  2. Having a solvent port can significantly simplify the process. It allows you to easily administer ThorroClean.
  3. Step 1: Start by pushing a wet tight patch through your bore to remove loose carbon fouling.
  4. Step 2: Liberally apply ThorroClean (about a teaspoonful) to a high-quality bore brush. Stroke the barrel forward out through the crown and back approximately 10 to 15 times. Ensure your brush has enough ThorroClean for effective cleaning.
  5. Step 3: Follow up by pushing a dry patch through the barrel, and then use patches generously soaked in ThorroFlush. Typically, you can clean all the ThorroClean out of the barrel with 2 or 3 patches. Be diligent in checking for excess ThorroClean in your solvent port, and use a borescope for a thorough inspection.

    I have found that the Thoroclean system works better than other carbon, copper removal systems available. The thoroclean paste when cycled through the bore does loosen the carbon deposits. I have found the cleanup of the thoroclean paste to be a bit more difficult as it does leave some residue behind, even after using the thoroflush generously. It takes about 5-7 applications to get the bore cleaned, using 15 to 20 strokes with the thoroclean system. I did switch over to the the iosso brushes which are stiffer and do seem to clean and scrub the bore better than other brushes

    Pleasantly surprised with first use of the Thorroclean system, following instructions it clearly worked as advertised on the first pass. Have tried lots of products, with the intent of saving time and being effective. This system hands down has gotten me to a clean bore in record time.

    I followed the directions and cleaned my 308 Remington Rifle I used in a match on Sunday.I used a nylon brush gave it 30 strokes then rinsed with thorro flush. Carbon gone,clean bore. Good Product.

    4 passes with 20 strokes per pass had my barrel cleaned of all carbon and copper.

    I followed the directions and other than doing a bit more scrubbing than indicated my barrel came out beautiful! The time to get these results was much shorter than my previous process. The first five shots out of the rifle after cleaning made one ragged hole under half inch. Definitely going to keep using this system. I have already recommended it.

    Just like everyone else, this stuff works great. Used many and multiple products in the past. Had already cleaned using Iosso combo. Then cleaned with Thorroclean per instructions. Was amazed how much more carbon came out. And was very easy and fast. Bore also seemed more smooth, easier to push patches through. Highly recommend.

    I recently purchased the ThorroFlush and ThorroClean set and proceeded to clean one of my rifle barrels that I had just cleaned and NOT fired two weeks prior. I was absolutely amazed at how much black came out of the "already" cleaned barrel!! I was wiping down the cleaning rod as I was doing the cleaning and the shop wrag was covered in blackness!! Simply a superior product, this one I will be happy to keep using!
